Job Description

Swapsy is a fast growing app startup based in London, UK. We are the world’s first dedicated fashion swapping app that allows people to exchange clothing and accessories with people local to them. The app will be ready to download for Android and iOS in June 2019 and right now, our aim is to drive interest, downloads and engagement. We’re a team of six down to earth people who care about the environment and creating a great product for our users.

We’re looking to recruit a Visual Designer for a quickly growing startup to help take us to the next level. Visual design at Swapsy touches on graphic design, illustration and photography. There’s a ton of flexibility and exploration. And as with any startup, you’ll wear many different hats and will be given the freedom and responsibility to do what you think works best for Swapsy. You’ll be working directly with the Social Media Manager, Head of Product Design and Chief Marketing Officer.

As a Visual Designer you will:

  • Create graphic design assets for print (business cards, posters, flyers, etc.)

  • Design digital design / branding assets (social media, website, etc.)

  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager to brainstorm ideas for social media campaigns

  • Help us design email templates for newsletters, etc.

  • Re-design our website (this is on our wish list!)


  • Based in London, UK

  • 8-10 hours/week (this may fluctuate from week to week)

  • A current design student or junior designer who is looking to gain design experience

  • Creatively minded with awesome visual design skills

  • Proficiency with Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign

  • Animation / video creation skills a definite plus!)

  • Collaborative and has great communication skills

  • Proactive and a self starter

  • Willingness to try new ideas of what we could do in terms of design

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the rest of the team when needed to input

  • Comfortability with ambiguity and changing timelines

  • Enthusiasm and excitement for fashion

  • A passion for circular economy, sustainable fashion and zero waste :)

This is an unpaid position and could be great for someone looking to gain experience for their CV and test their ideas. We can also provide a recommendation/reference letter (if you are a student and are looking to get experience!)
